Toby is a personal macOS workspace developed by Rohan Pahwa. These terms cover the Toby app and thetoby.app. By using them, you agree to these terms.

Your content and your choices

Your content remains yours. You are responsible for the content you import, create, or share, and for having the necessary rights and permissions.

Connected services

OpenAI, xAI, and any services you connect are separate services with their own terms, account requirements, limits, and possible charges. You choose which services to connect and which AI provider to use. Toby uses your ChatGPT or Grok subscription for AI requests. Toby is not affiliated with or endorsed by those providers. Their availability may change.

AI can make mistakes

Summaries and AI responses may be incomplete or inaccurate. Check important information and review any action involving your files or accounts. Toby’s output is not a substitute for professional advice.

Availability and backups

Toby is evolving software. Features may change or be unavailable, and we cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Keep backups of information that matters to you. The app and website are provided as available, without warranties to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Privacy

Our privacy policy explains local storage, connected services, Mac and browser permissions, and information sent to AI providers.
